  1. What kind of porridge will be served is decided in the primaries. Sure, the primaries should try to pick the porridge that's best for the people and has the best chance at defeating the Republican. Whatever the primary decides, the best chance at defeating the Republican should hold. Voting green will not do that.

  2.  @johnscott6481  The mainstream Democratic party is right of centre. Sanders, and the progressives, are centre to centre-left. Mainstream Democrats might be in the centre of the US political spectrum, but that spectrum is almost totally right of centre.
