@tmsphere It's a fundraising event for a museum, ffs, that then allows NY residents go for free.

@ryand76 She didn't pay for the ticket or dress. Even if she did, what would that have to do with campaign donations that couldn't be used for a personal event? If you donated to her, didn't you get someone who helped add a few more M4A yes votes to congress and helped remove a few more corporate Dems from congress? Didn't you get someone who campaigned for Nina, trying to add one more? Didn't you get someone whose office has helped tens of thousands of her constituents get disaster and rent relief? Someone who draws attention to strikes? Someone who raises money for freezing Texans and women's choice activists in Texas? Someone who helped draw attention to the eviction moratorium running out? Someone who has been talking about unemployment running out and introducing a bill to reinstate it? Etc. Etc. What is it you expect one person to do, exactly, that she isn't?

@snakedoctor6969 Her salary puts her in the upper middle class quintile, not the rich. Plus, members of congress have to maintain two households, and DC and NYC aren't exactly cheap. She's nowhere close to the 1% who actually pay for those tickets.

@tmsphere The top 1% own about 30% of wealth and pay about 30% of taxes, a 1:1 ratio. The bottom 50% own about 1.5% of the wealth and pay about 3% of taxes, a 2:1 ratio. As a percentage of their wealth, the top 1% pay less than the bottom 50%. As pointed out already, amongst the 1% are the super rich who pay next to nothing relative to their wealth owned, who are screwing the lesser rich along with everyone else.

@firewithfire848 She was just with Bernie supporting striking workers trying to get a $15 minimum. The two were also campaigning with Nina, trying to add another M4A yes vote to congress. She had already helped add a few more M4A yes votes to congress and helped remove a few more corporate Dems. If those are the kinds of things the Democratic establishment has "co-opted" her to do, maybe they aren't so bad.

@tonymccann7445 Are there people who don't understand that the super rich don't live on taxable incomes?
2
@tonymccann7445 Is this the first time you've ever heard of her?
2
@tonymccann7445 So you've heard her say to tax wealth many times? What are you bitching about, then? That she wasn't specific on a fucking dress slogan? Are you a complete moron? A girl thinking she can become pm, or president, because of Margaret Thatcher, doesn't equate to having the same politics.
