Disputes over the South China Sea have been going on for over a century. Indonesia has been the most aggressive towards other fishing boats, in disputed territory, destroying hundreds in a matter of years. Vietnam has built the most outposts in disputed territory, dozens compared to other countries' handfuls. What has China suddenly done, exactly, that you think warrants US involvement?
