  1. The poorest of the poor, on maximum unstackable government assistance, will be worse off with Yang. He's lying about a VAT being a way to make corporations like Amazon "pay their fair share". His plan, as is, will hurt some economically vulnerable people, and make Amazon and Bezos richer. That's not a good plan.

  2. The richer people are, the more they tend to hoard and hoarded wealth isn't affected by a VAT. The VAT is also not a way to make corporations like Amazon "pay their fair share". Mixed with the UBI, it will actually make them richer and, in turn, hand Bezos more money to hoard. Opting out of UBI won't change your electric bill, or phone bill, etc., going up 10%. Some people will be worse off under Yang's plan.

  3.  @almac8840  His plan doesn't stack with SSI. A disabled person with a child, for example, would be getting $1000+ in SSI. Yang is only offering them a replacement. Opt in or out. Either way, they'll be worse off with the VAT raising their cost of living.
