  2. No. It's a good argument for social media, because the only way out is to make it public ownership. So, if those right wingers desperately want free speech, they'd have to support public ownership. Media that creates its own content is somewhat different, and is not a platform anyone expects to be free speech. There used to be broadcasting standards for news. There still should be. If you're advertising yourself as news, then it should be as unbiased as possible, or it should be considered false advertising. Or, create one state sponsored public news outlet ... make sure that no bias is in the charter ... and have it operated by a diverse group.

  3.  @hylomorpher  I'm saying that "they're a private company and can do what they want" was a good argument, for social media, against the cries of right wing "free speech" advocates. Because, their only way out would be to advocate for public ownership. It cornered them, between their capitalism and their "free speech". They have to pick one. Social media platforms don't create their own content, so it's not exactly the same thing as media that creates its own content. The "free speech" advocates were wanting social media, something that isn't a public square, to be treated as a public square. Nobody expects content creating news media to be a public square. It's a different animal, and can be argued differently.

  4. Israel is a rogue state, that has ratified few international laws, plus the US can protect it with their veto. They have done things for the US, to keep the US hands clean. They've trained and armed fascist militants in Latin America, for example. They are state sponsors of terror, like they claim Iran is.
