@sekulrtsnfnugg6126 Policies? Like promoting Trump as a better option than Clinton, promoting Tulsi over Bernie, or like abandoning Nina Turner ... abandoning adding another M4A yes vote to congress, when getting enough yes votes in congress is the only possible way to ever pass the bill.

@squatch545 The tea party was backed by the Koch brothers. Major right wing donors were also pressuring Republican lawmakers to make another jump to the right ... a direction they already have a tendency to move. The tea party numbers were increasing. And, the only reason they could block anything was because even the other Republicans were so far right that they were unwilling to simply make deals with enough Democrats to get the numbers to pass bills without needing tea party votes. There are no major donors helping progressives push the party left. Other party members aren't joining progressives regularly. Corporate Dems do not have a tendency to move left. Corporate Dems are willing to simply work with Republicans to try and pass bills without needing progressives' votes. The two scenarios are not at all samesies.
