  2.  Marc Ruffalo  The only real "American culture" is a culture of immigration and different cultures coming together to make a new one. So, did Italians all convert to Protestantism, start drinking tea, not let any of their language or foods seep into the "American culture", and give up constantly letting everyone know they're Italian? Fuck no. Italians didn't assimilate to "American culture", "American culture" absorbed Italians, and parts of their culture, gangsters and all. That's what makes a melting pot. They melt together and make something new. It's simply racists and bigots who single out groups they don't want to absorb. If there should be zero tolerance in "American culture" changing, then Americans should be putting people in the stocks for kissing in public, stringing up even Quakers for not practicing Christianity properly let alone people practicing different religions, and attacking neighbouring towns/cities for improper conduct. All Americans adopt the culture of the original colonizers, and stick with it.

  3.  Marc Ruffalo  Italian food has become an American staple. There are Italian restaurants everywhere. Movies and TV shows about Italian mobsters are still a constant. Italian immigrants built hundreds of Catholic churches and still have celebrations to prominent Italian saints. Many actually celebrate Columbus on Columbus Day, instead of just taking the day off. They've influenced art, theatre, music, and fashion. Oh, but your grandparents didn't play soccer. Yeah, those Italians really turned British American (original culture) alright.

  4.  Marc Ruffalo  America was built on government handouts of free land to illiterate immigrants. Whatever you think "should" be, English isn't the official language. You're not making much sense. Is there a culture of freedom from and freedom for religious belief or non-belief, that allows for new people of various beliefs, or should America have stuck with the original Puritan culture of the earliest colonists? They didn't think even other forms of Christianity were compatible with their culture.

You're the moron who thinks there's been some singular "American culture" everyone should adhere to. If that were actually true, there would never have been an evolving melting pot. There would have been a stagnant, never changing, singular culture. Now you're getting into some honesty. You don't give any value to those kind of people. You don't give a crap about what maybe you can do for them. It's all about what they can do for you.
