@railroadtrash09 You know the US has basically already had 2 civil wars, with neighbors trying to kill neighbors, right? Not to mention numerous labor and race conflicts, where the military was called in, and yes, even bombed other citizens.

@DubhghlasMacDubhghlas I think they are much more used to a lower standard of living, a lack of conveniences, and already had connections with neighbors who could supply them. And, yes, a lot of countries have less obesity than the US, and are in better shape, on average.
