  1. You're making an analogy between inanimate objects and living beings, and between owning and being owned? Shouldn't the analogy, at least, be from the owner perspective? If a law takes away your right to own slaves, but you keep slaves anyway, then you're a criminal, and then you threaten civil war to keep your slaves ... sounds somewhat familiar.
