There's already a word for medical "segregation" ... quarantine ... and it has been a response to countless contagious outbreaks.

For example: Although neither is M4A, trying to toss 10m of the poorest Americans off of Medicaid expansion isn't exactly samesies as not doing that and possibly adding tens of millions more through further Medicaid and Medicare expansion.

@andrewdeschamps4926 The bubonic plague has a mortality rate of about 1% in modern developed countries, so ... about the same. Without modern medicine, and modern counter measures, covid may have killed off many many more, much quicker than the plague.

@andrewdeschamps4926 A lot of people have had serious conditions, that required hospitalization from covid. Many many more likely would have died hundreds of years ago, without modern medicine ... including a lot more middle aged and younger people. Plus, there are already new variants that are sending more younger people than old, to the hospital, right now. Covid would have trashed a medieval world.
