It doesn't even matter. Reagan deregulated domestic oil back in 1981. It's no cheaper. It sells at the global market price. The global market price dropped in 2015, before Dumpty, and then during COVID. It has zero to do with "energy independence".

There has been no such thing as cheaper domestic oil, for decades. The global price dropped in 2015, before Dumpty, and dipped again in 2020, due to COVID. Had absolutely nothing to do with Trumpty Dumpty.
