Wearing masks, distancing, etc., is also going to reduce flu numbers. And, if something comes along and kills people, before they die of their heart disease, or whatnot, then yes that'll reduce heart disease deaths. Dropping bombs on 250k Americans would also reduce deaths due to other things.
