How is an editor suggesting edits and verifying authenticity, "censorship"? Even if a news outlet decides not to cover a story, that's still not "censorship". Not covering the NY Post's numerous Bigfoot and UFO articles, doesn't equate to "censorship". Why are you spouting nonsense, Jimmy?

@yoxat1 Something is either "censorship", or not, and a news outlet picking which stories it wants to run, or not run, all on their own, isn't. If the authorities were making them not run a story, that would be.

@l.w.paradis2108 I don't have to read what's on your poster, to know that me not letting you stick it up in my store window isn't censorship. To call it such, is nonsense. I highly doubt a writer has a contract saying they can write whatever the hell they want, whenever they want, and it'll 100% be printed every time, without any editorial input. Even if such a thing existed, breach of contract also doesn't equate to censorship. If we had a contract for you to paint a mural on my wall, and I changed my mind, because I didn't like your sketches, it may be a breach of contract, but that's also not censorship. Not letting an Armageddon preacher come into my restaurant and scream at my customers isn't censorship.

@l.w.paradis2108 You're arguing for the word to be pretty much meaningless. Everytime someone decides not to tell their boss, or a customer, or a spouse, or a child, to f*ck off ... censorship! Ok, then so what? You've now argued that censorship can be a good thing in many situations. So, every single time a news agency decides not to run a story, that's "censorship", and it is "censorship" if actual news outlets don't pick up every tabloid article in existence. Then, so what? You seem to be trying to convince me not to give a crap about "censorship".

You argued "censorship" was a broad concept, going beyond the authorities silencing you, and covers everything from "self-censorship" to "censorship in violation of a private contract", as well. So, everytime someone decides not to say something that might hurt someone else, that's "censorship". That makes it a good thing, in many cases. Ok, Greenwald was "censored", using a broad concept. So what? It's you that doesn't seem to have read what I said about even if a contract did say that, because you keep going on about the contract. Again, if I sign a contract with you, giving you full artistic license, to paint a mural on the side of my building, but then I decide I don't like your draft sketches and ask you to alter them in some way, that's not censorship. It may be a breach of contract, but me deciding what goes on the wall I own, or what doesn't, is my freedom.

@l.w.paradis2108 How is "artistic license" different from Greenwald claiming he had "editorial freedom"? Greenwald has called what happened "censorship", but where has he said the word is in his contract? Not in his explanation for quitting.

@l.w.paradis2108 Rofl, I can read just fine. You say that, but don't give specifics. You skipped pointing out exactly where I supposedly lied, too. Should we ditch all editors for spellcheck, then? Has every news article, since the dawn of printing news, that had an editor tell a writer to change something, been "censored"? That sounds nonsensical, and sounds like you don't seem to understand the role of editors. You're the one attacking the press for freely choosing not to run a story, as is.

As Greenwald posts his story on the internet, for the whole world to see, while whining about being "censored", maybe the two of you can get together and cry about all the meanie editors, throughout history.

@l.w.paradis2108 Lol, it's funny that, no matter how many people are in that head of yours, they all have to be under a certain level of intelligence. I mean, for all of you to decide that it was good idea to fall back on not knowing that the word "snowflake" is generally used by people of a specific political leaning, is kind of self defeating.
