Exactly. Exit polls this year are kind of pointless. Since a higher percentage of Democrats voted early, or by mail, and a higher percentage of Republicans voted on election day, then the exit polls are going to be too skewed to be meaningful.

@JagoFett I don't understand how people don't understand that I'm referring to the core design of a VAT ... what makes a VAT a VAT. Variables, like what rate you use, what you decide to tax, or don't tax, partially tax, etc., are all irrelevant to the core design. A VAT is specifically designed to NOT tax businesses in order to avoid double taxation. That's a VAT, and Yang is clueless or lying.

@JohnSSuh Well, you're wrong, for one. Secondly, I was referring to the fact that Yang is bullshitting, whenever he claims a VAT will force corporations to pay their fair share in taxes. I'm referring to him bullshitting, when he claims a VAT will have corporations paying you to show you ads or pay you for your data. I'm referring to him bullshitting, everytime he compares his dividend to Alaska's dividend, which is paid for by corporations. Since Yang won't actually have corporations paying into his dividend, they will only benefit from the spending of that dividend. Amazon's share of US consumer spending is 2%. Yang will make them an extra $60b a year. That will, in turn, make Bezos billions extra a year, more than he'd ever personally pay into a VAT.

They clearly say it's not at all designed to tax corporations, so as to avoid double taxation, which would be even worse. "The VAT due on any sale is a percentage of the sale price but from this the taxable person is entitled to deduct all the tax already paid at the preceding stage. Therefore, double taxation is avoided and tax is paid only on the value added at each stage of production and distribution.
