Jamarcus Washington Millions of books have stopped being published over the years. Have you been crying about every out of print book ever?

@robertmartin2867 Oh, geezus. If it's "censorship", then it's self censorship. It's not like the FCC is telling them no swearing or nudity, which conservative types have been fine with, for decades. But, hey, better not pull something somewhat racist, or conservatives will get all up in arms. But ... they're not racists, of course. lol

As a publisher, don't they get to decide what to publish? Books have been going out of print since forever.

@mcoo465 Where were you lot when the actual government (president) was threatening to fire people and actually did fire people, if they said things Supreme Leader didn't like?
2
Nothing was "banned", dimwit.

@TiminTende Books go out of print all the damn time, and have forever. That's not "banning".

Get a grip. Books have been going out of print since the beginning of books.
1
@MaryJohanna They decided for themselves to stop publishing a few books. Publishers have been doing this since the dawn of publishing. It doesn't take the already existing printed copies out of circulation. Check libraries and used book stores. Do you want the government to force companies to print things they don't want to print anymore?

Nothing was banned.

@Matthew-cw3gn Books have been going out of print, since the dawn of publishing. Christian nuts have banned books like Harry Potter in places, because ... magic. Right wingers are suddenly up in arms to defend a few racist pictures ... but they're definitely not racists.

@b.t.1632 You're the one that sounds crazy.
1
No. It's the history of books going out of print, when a publisher decides to stop publishing more of them.
1
@ATMyles Books go out of print all the time.
1
@ATMyles And the supposed Virginia school district banning is a complete fabrication, btw. You're spreading lies.
1
@ATMyles If someone lies, and you share their lie around, you're spreading a lie. Just a fact. Apparently, part of the problem with The Hill comment section is people who can't do a quick Google search before spreading complete bullshit. Seuss, himself, wasn't proud of some of his earlier racist stuff, and whoever owns the rights can do whatever they want, for whatever reason they want. It's not like people are holding books burnings, or actual bannings, like with Harry Potter books.
