Both parties have the exact same rules for if someone drops out before the convention, dingus. Democratic parliamentary systems, around the world, have the party pick their leader, and then there's just a general election. An oligarchy is when DT and Musk are laughing at the idea of firing workers who just want a better life, so they can maintain the class/caste system.

@truthache8560 Again, dingus ... Both parties have the exact same rules. The delegates of the person who drops out become unassigned, and they can vote for whoever they want. There are also rules for if someone drops out post convention, so it's not too late for Reps to try and find someone who isn't absolutely 🤪. But, I do, dingus. Some spoiled, silver spoon, brat, "politician" letting the super rich know that he's cool with them squashing workers, is a prime example.

She jumped back in the race after his debate, called for him to drop out, and promoted herself as an alternative. JB dropped out Jul 21, but the delegates signaled they were backing Kamala, so she dropped out again.

@jackaljade Yes, candidates have to convince enough unpledged delegates to back them, if there's no clear leader by the convention, dmwt. Like when neither Ford nor Reagan had enough delegates to be declared the primary winner, in 1976. Ford then managed to convince 66 delegates to switch to him.

The fact they even gave Marianne, and anyone else who wanted to for that matter, a chance to convince just 300 delegates to back them, was plenty generous. There are plenty of parliamentary systems out there, where the party just picks their leader and there's only a general election, that are considered more democratic than the US system (which didn't used to have primaries either).

He did so, by taking someone else's (Reagan's) delegates. After the convention became contested. Those delegates could have actually √0t€d for whoever they wanted. It was even floated by Republicans as a way to end DT's political career, in 2016, if he didn't have enough delegates, to automatically become the nominee, by the time of the convention. You, and your party, are nothing but hypocrites.

RR deregulated domestic oil prices way back in 1981. Domestic has sold at the exact same global market price as foreign, ever since. The global market price dropped in 2014, before DT.
