  1. The thing is "blue no matter who" works both ways, and is generally how progressives get elected. Those who vote against them in the primaries turn around and vote for them in the general. Even if you somehow managed to split off every progressive voter, to vote for a purely progressive party, that would just lead to Republicans winning almost everywhere. It might be hard moving policies forward with corporate Dems, but Republicans want to move backwards on a lot of issues.
