@martinpenwald9475 McCarthy's group was literally the group that voted with Dems to keep the government funded. The other group would have let the government fall apart.

Not sure about this move from Dems. Who are they going to work with, now?

@martinpenwald9475 Yeah, but getting the bare minimum done was only possible through working with McCarthy's faction. If Gaetz's faction was in charge, there'd be nothing ... a complete shutdown. If McCarthy's faction is now pissed at Dems, and unwilling to work with them further, they may all just line up behind the Gaetz faction, and government won't be funded. I think having McCarthy on the ropes, was a perfect place to keep him.
