@FootballFanFlyingSaucer Hint: The less racist Union states now tend to vote Democrat. The more racist Confederate, and Jim Crow, states now tend to vote Republican. Either most of the people in both the more racist and less racist states magically flipped their values to the opposite one day and the parties remained exactly the same, or the people in those states migrated to different parties, took their values with them, and the parties changed. Another hint: Millions of black Americans migrated to those less racist states, leaving the more racist states with an even higher percentage of racists, and almost all of them have migrated to the Democratic party, where they have more representation and are more involved with shaping policies. To argue that Republicans are still the exact same less racist party, you'd have to argue that the vast majority of black Americans are clueless ... which is kinda racist.
