They are constantly flooded with Chinese tourism and trade. And yet, they have one of the lowest covid case and fatality rates in the world. The US response was complete incompetence. A response like Vietnam's would have meant under 1k deaths. Even a mediocre response, like Canada's, would have meant hundreds of thousands of fewer deaths. The US response was a total shit show.

@Warrenmitchum You seem to have missed the point. Existing unions have already negotiated with the price floor, and get paid percentages higher than the floor. If the floor rises, so do their wages. Unions have invested tens of millions into activism and lobbying to raise the minimum wage. What are you talking about? Most countries have a minimum wage.

@Warrenmitchum 18 out of 27 EU countries have a national minimum wage. A bunch of others have mass unionization, which has effectively done the same thing, raising wages across the board. Australia has the highest national minimum wage. Tons of countries have national minimum wages. You're spouting absolute garbage. You're making a moronic argument that amounts to saying it's pointless to accept raises.

Democratic states, like Japan, S Korea, Australia, New Zealand, who all had great responses? Democratic states like Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Canada, who had mediocre responses, that still would have saved hundreds of thousands of American lives?
