  1. ​ @aepneuma Modernization most definitely kills off sections of industry. Sure, we still have horses, but motorized vehicles killed off using horses for the majority of farming, travel, deliveries, etc. Sure, there are still some hand weavers, but the loom killed off hand weaving as the majority of the industry. Realism used to be a major part of the painting industry. After photography, not so much. Who wants to sit for hours for a realistic family portrait, when you can just take a picture? And we started calling crap, like a black square, painted soup can labels, or paint splatters on canvas, "art". All animations used to be hand drawn, frame by frame. Now, a ton are done with 3D animation. Mass produced crap has become the norm, in many sectors of society. Sure, there will still be some people who care, but I don't know why you'd think that people who watch Kardashians, or some sh*t, won't welcome garbage.
