Some viruses trigger lifelong resistance, some decades, some years, and some only months, with antibody efficacy rates from 99% (polio) to 50% (flu) ... even using the old method of vaccine creation. Vaccines are simply triggering an antibody response, and will trigger the same kind of response the body would naturally trigger for the type of virus ... only you don't have to catch it first.
