  1. "A slice of every Amazon transaction" A VAT works similar to a sales tax. It is the customers who will be paying 10% more on each Amazon sale. Amazon would just be collecting the tax and passing it along to the government. They would still be paying zero taxes, themselves. Sure, it's a good way to generate federal revenue, but he's lying by saying it's a way to tax Amazon, or other corporations.

  2. Except, Yang is lying when he says it's a way to tax corporations. I've been paying VAT on goods and services for almost 30 years. It's the consumers who pay the tax. Amazon would still pay zero taxes, with a VAT added. They'd simply be collecting the tax, from consumers, and passing it along to the government.
