@Cody Historical reminder: The US was founded by people who protested, rioted, and even went to war, over taxes that specifically funded the police/military, and a lack of representation, which is anti-authoritarianism. Their opponents backed the police/military, and fought against democracy to keep an unelected ruler in power, which is authoritarianism.

@Michael Rogers You didn't mention Spain. Europe and the US are perfectly cool with fascists who didn't step on their toes. The US even provided aid to Franco. Because fascists are capitalists, who use their authoritarianism to make their rich backers richer.

@briano9397 Aaron is being an idiot. Probably got infected by the Dore knob virus. There have been hundreds of accounts of Syrian chemical weapons use, since 2012. Just in 2018, there was an earlier one in Feb, that had zero dissenting opinions from anyone associated with its inspection. 2 dissenting opinions on a single investigation of a single site, for a report that didn't assign blame and didn't come out until months after bombing, is a big todo about not much of anything.

@bsadewitz Except the US Overton window goes from centrism to the far right. So, calling US politicians "communists" isn't even in the right solar system. Rand is one of those who supported Trump, promoted the lie that the election was fraudulent, and encouraged the overthrow of the democratic process. What is it you think is missing, to make him a fascist? Being outright anti-democracy, rather than simply undemocratic, is pretty much the only box that needs checking for most Republicans.
