  1. There are some fairly conservative districts, where a more conservative Dem just beat an incumbent Republican, after having creamed their progressive challengers in the primaries. For midterm elections, the big deal is trying to hang on to seats. It doesn't benefit progressives to become part of a minority party midterm. I'd say only primary in districts where there's a chance for progressives to win, but support the conservative Dems in districts progressives have no chance in, to help keep the majority.
