  1. A "democratic socialist" believes in democracy, and will take a democratic path towards socialism as far as it will go. A "social democrat" doesn't want to ever go beyond centrism (of the real variety, not the US variety), and should call themselves "democratic centrist", or something less confusing for people.

  2.  @ABC-ej1sd  Yeah, but the terms used to refer to the exact same thing, a democratic transition from capitalism to socialism. So, if you're going to change your goal to stopping at centrism, then yeah, change your name.
