  1. Quakers did own many slaves, at one point. Quakers did a full U-turn, later becoming abolitionists, but they had been Christian slave owners, like the rest. Not many anabaptists owned slaves and, when they did, it didn't tend to be many. They weren't bigtime slave owners, to begin with, but they also didn't become bigtime abolitionists, in any significant numbers.
