  1.  @imnotmike  People keep talking like this is something new. Religious nuts have been cancelling all kinds of crap they don't like, for centuries. Capitalists have tried to cancel socialist ideas, unions, and all kinds of crap, for decades. Conservatives started making up fake wars against them and have tried to cancel all kinds of businesses, starting years ago. It's not "culture", and it's not new. It's human nature, to try and eliminate shit you have a strong dislike for.

Chopping off heads, dispersing that property, and giving more power to the people, is what brought more people out of poverty. Massive labour strikes and giving more say and power to workers is what brought more people out of poverty. Those much more centrist countries I mentioned, with more social programs, much higher unionization, etc., have lower poverty rates. You're talking out your ass.

The Marxian ideal is a non authoritarian, stateless, democratic, socialism/communism. That ideal does not share a desire for government power with fascists, in the least. Its complete opposite is an authoritarian, nationalistic, anti-democratic, capitalism. Fascists promoted bootstrapping ... denied class warfare, promoted accepting your lot in life and work hard for the country, and that hard work might pay off. There was not much agreement on equality, either. It's like you don't actually know what the two things are.

Mussolini's black shirts went after them even before his March on Rome. It's part of the reason the monarchy backed the fascists, because they were fighting socialists. There were even more anarchists in Spain, that gave the fascists a helluva fight.
