high population is bad when country is in chaos. population growth at all when there are famine, starvation, lack of water, serious problems is bad. then corruption is icing on cake stagnating any progress by grift.

some countries do reasonable well though. not like all of africa is bad, but lefties and UN just focus on the worst parts... possibly making them poor.

@useodyseeorbitchute9450 there's simple way for that though... shape society to value things that require IQ like education and challenging jobs. it takes decades of course but it happens quite fast like in korea. how to keep good governance is hard part though, populists and bribers are everywhere giving taxmoney to people to hide what corruption they are doing in shadows, despite lot of folks were good hardworking. Main point is to let people devise their best solutions and not dictate it from above. That is extremely hard task to do in this scale(like corporate mentors, consultants but trying to do what was supposed to happen in Iraq with new governance around 2004 forward). Possibly this has succeeded sometime somewhere in history but in my experience dont know any example.

@useodyseeorbitchute9450 Im talking "phenotypal maximum" and over couple gens like in industrial revolution, slight selection happens. I cant know what kind of IQ profile emerges in african context and im eager to see, as im sure it will differ a bit from european or north america profile if they can take it for local needs but inspired by dreams, aspirations from other parts of world. I think east asian "IQ" and education obsession is extreme and not sure it even works in current stable society phase with overly competitive of everything. African people also want to get educated so would be interesting to see if they plan it at some point more to their needs, how it will differ. All societies go through these phases more or less to get advanced and wealthy from poor peasant society. Zimbabwe had some foregin merchant class but for this to sustain and be societally stable, that may not be ideal way to boost it by foreign "elite class". Farm work doesnt require as much IQ. it helps but other factors are important.

zimbabwe, which collapsed economy by hyperinflation, seriously was their model how to do things?

"not socialist" ? ANC and past their prime, it is nothing but socialism with its common results of corruption, powerty and incompetence and failing systems. This is what happens in europe occasionally but then other parties are voted to power so it wont totally collapse beyond repair.

@jgw9990 have or had? SA in current form dont look very competent.... very chaotic. also technical level and discipline, training matter. nazis had way smaller population, troops sizes than allies or soviet union but those other factors were very high quality in beginning. early 1900s were boer wars. modern times need very good reasons to use warfare for any goals.
