who brought it to ireland... afaik ireland has never been first destination of any kind and is small country with harsh climate/environment + not ideal location for businesses and any tax rebate policies are less impactful in age of internet. To me that seems "weak" countries open to new things are used as guinea pigs before bigger countries but in this case alliance of international lefties, social democrats etc are to blame. Looking from map, ireland is like mini australia in europe.... hard to travel there by accident.

@alexpotts6520 aint that how benefits are everywhere? people are expected to work.... doesnt matter how rich country is.

@klown463 this latter part is why companies are pushing so much to get ever bigger flows of people... as they know immigrants quickly learn they dont have to accept just anything and thus new people are needed who can be exploited for a while.

so left opened borders? I dont get it, they are onboard as much as right(I see they've made "deals" securing funding for unions in many places, thus unions are illusion for regular person)... where right I can logically understand but left used to be (oldschool working class left) against excessive immigration for obvious reasons.

@alexpotts6520 thats still relative. yes in absolute terms but rent is also skyhigh and unaffordable in big city without big benefits. thus crime is natural consequence. in some places their country of origin could give better opportunities with lower living costs. eg do morocco, tunisia and other north african countries especially if person is from big city and decent education already, really be worse? I dont agree, huge part is that they are following their parents' dreams and perceptions, not reality.

@alexpotts6520 Problem I see from estonia.... with lot of russian origin people but Estonia as EU country, they can give much better level of benefits eg pension. These russian/slav origin people nostalgic of their home country but no reason to go back because of this difference. I suspect similar thing is at play, psychology of humans is that money is absolute and "loosing it" is big shame and hurt... but other hand, life quality is much better in familiar culture and having relatives and friends around... this is best seen in not wartorn countries, just lower economic level migrants. Problem with nordics is there are very little low entry, ie low salary level jobs these days due to "jobs went to china" thing.. this creates very difficult combination also for natives, that hard to get into worklife. This of course quickly escalates with mental health and physical health problems with only little money and not as much social possibilities. And as you mentioned, messing with bureacracy takes those limited mental energies if there were some. Richer countries seem to have bigger bureacracy over time and often these unemployed problems are taped over by sort of hiring them but not really. Even with good economic times and handson help it takes months to find job, if not years and taking lot of people as immigrants in this "multiculturalism fomo" has made things worse for everyone. Denmark is often praised to handle unemployment well, though they were also among first to limit immigrants... smart move as it limits both of these problems(staff helping people have more time and funding doesnt run out with lot of benefit people).

@nerdytube5351 I agree, christian people assimilate decently. Problem is then skillset fit in highly advanced society and possible language barriers. Eg need enough janitor and other kind of jobs for those people or it wont be feasible to take them be unemployed. That is torture for healthy person. (in military they have saying idle hands make devil deeds or something like that; in urban context depression and other mental disorders are often consequence of this, inward aggression, frustration etc)

oh boy.... flow of indians will never stop. they likely make mini indias with all problems with that swedish multicultural policy. it has happened throughout decades every time with any group of people more or less. Though japanese at least before didnt consider anyone not ethnic japanese to ever be true japanese person.
