You're right Veritaserum. Thanks for reminding me that. If I build the educational system I want to someday, I will remember this.
I think a combination of standard Educational videos made by the best teachers in the world/country plus normal teacher pausing the video, and asking questions, discussions etc, and then resuming , along with breaks would help under developing countries where teacher quality is EXTREMELY bad.
Even the teachers can learn then. They often need to. The govt should pay for the infrastructure and videos.
More discussions, more questioning in class, more creativity, this is how it will work.
It's a combination with everything that has to work. Revolution comes through incremental increases. Don't discard it all veritaserum. Active interaction plus self study.
Extraneous data should ALWAYS be available, like a popup. If someone wants to go deeper into something, it should be instantly accessible.
Interactive Videos/Holograms would be great too.
A educational software which does all this would work.
Very very few teachers inspire. I have some that do and they are great.
Most teachers though just dictate notes..and waste time!
Also memory tricks and mnemonics plus comprehensive ability, critical thinking and creativity have to be focused on.
