Immortality is not desirable. The world cannot support so many
123
Fuck. The amount of fucking pain we cause animals that feel pain just to get pleasure.

@AverageAlien Eh...maybe you're right...space won't be a problem if we make space travel as easy as air travel....or better yet, ship travel in the olden days. But If we don't get any form of effective superluminal travel, space will certainly still be a problem. A space ship can take at most how many? Maybe 50000. Thay would be a huge huge ship and if it travels slow, it's worthless except as a seed ship. Earth will still be our home for most of us. Earth has billions. We'd need so much stuff to move a significant fraction. Artificial gravity, terraforming...superluminal travel. I'd still like to die one day though, And mate sorry to say, you and I will both die. Maybe our great grand kids will see this immortality thing and all the ethical and physical problems it will cause...and the benefits it will bring.

@Fanaz10 That the world cannot support as many? Development currently is not sustainable. Unless you are some right winger who thinks that the chopping down of forests and mining indiscriminately and using oil can go on forever at these rates.. It is not sustainable. Most of the stuff we buy is junked soon because our current model demands that we consume as much as possible for economic growth....this demands more resources. Look at India. Our roads are full of people now. Cars are jam packed...and barely 4% of the people pay tax or have cars. There isn't enough steel, oil, metals, or resources in the world for all indians to have a European standard of living. There isn't enough for the Chinese...or the Africans either. Unless you get space resources and vertical farming. Also mate, there is a question of automation and jobs. Who will support your infinitely growing and undying population? Look I get you atheists and the like want to live forever. The religious people want to too. People are all the same. I just accept the end.. everything must pass and so must I. It's okay. Malthus is okay, but the world has a carrying capacity.. it's probably not what we think it is, but it's there.

Quantum mechanics...says no lag.

@quitchiboo rome is ONE city, entire roman empire is not rome. Sewers is not the peak of civilization.
19
No... Predatory instinct leads to expansion.
16
@ovrsurge4689 Pretty incel thinking. You want women to remain dependent on men to get sex.
9
Well don't let them in. Decide as a united Europe...that you can't solve the US problems.
8
@ovrsurge4689 Point One: Too much population is not good anyway. The state and the world is already incentivized to have less kids. Automation leads to increasing concentration of wealth and diminishing of middle class. High paying high skilled jobs or low skilled jobs like waiters only. Society's goal is to care for society. Not care for the corporation. Corporations will survive. Silicon valley giants are becoming burgeoning monopolies anyway. Reproduction: Are you guys incels? How does having some money stop you from going after a girl? 4 Girls don't go for one guy. We practice monogamy. Also UBI doesn't take away your ability to work harder and gain more social status unless you are an idiot.

@addust that's what I'm saying, fission nuke powered craft built on earth is like an ICBM. Fusion would be better. Stellarator or whatever. Fission craft can be built in space directly if it never enters atmosphere.
6
@prod.by3zko More regulation is just good for the corporations. They lobby. We can't lobby anymore. The average consumer as a collective doesn't care much, is not informed about laws, doesn't lobby, while the mega corporations fill political pockets with money and pass what complex regulations they want...they have dedicated teams to deal with regulations...and then they use the system to keep small businesses out from competing. We are just fighting so hard to keep the rights we got long ago... which we will no doubt loose.

World: We are relatively peaceful! Combat AI: let me stop you right there.

He is Kurzgesagt to me.

Lmao fk

Tell China the moon is historical Chinese territory.
4
@taints23 It is possible we don't exist or this is a Combined dream of something.. Everything is possible. Why do we have to be a simulation? That's so IT.
4
@addust uhuh and have icbms.
3
@prod.by3zko Great paragraph. Europe...is going for the 4th industrial revolution. Also yes, that is a good idea. It seems to combine the best of both worlds. However we need to think deeper.
3
@vast634 till you use space lazers to vaporize crap.
3
@caab0516 Elon Musk good he do good things
3
Limited by our own greed and politicans and bullshit. We need a good global philosophy like the Vulcans....but for humans.
3
And not engineering. Theoretical physics. Engineers work with given physics.. theoretical physicists bring new physics.
2
@khala1953 Produce Produce produce OR the world breaks down! Produce produce produce AND the world breaks down! Fuckd.
2
@robertcurry8284 Hong Kong is not war. Do you know what war is? Africa, only some nations like Liberia and Somalia are at war. A lot of Africa is not at war. Only some Arabs are at war. Europe? South America? Latin America? Asia? There's no war. Terrorism exists but it's a side issue. It's not war.
2
@apteropith First world kids are too weak to do any real revolution.
2
People expect gains. They buy. They expect loss they sell. Like sheep. Some realize this and make profits with fundamentals. The share market is more hormonal than a raging teenager
2
Lmao RED HERRING.. (at the end, where the countries fight)
2
No.
2
It's definitely worth the goddam risk. Solar panels and stuff leave a lot of waste. This just needs a little water which we have a lot of. It's a bloody travesty that people are not doing all this well.
2
They probably don't mess with low level shits like us.
2
Forget all that, but look into privacy rights. We have none. Prism. What do you tell about that?
2
@kinoko87_b eeeeehhhh maybe 300
2
Eat fresh water fish
2
@exnihiloadnihilum5094 It is not true. Without cooperation, Humankind does not survive. We both co-operate and compete. That is how it has always been.
2
Dyson spheres are actually cool and kind of doable, maybe. MAYBE. But I don't know.
2
Forget it, not happening
2
@IliaDem Various factors.
2
Can't say what theyd do.
2
@EstEsreil Socialism is not a viable alternative to this shitfest we are creating for ourselves. We need to think, hard and deep for a better model that combines the best of what we know and goes beyond that.
2
@ataraxia7439 not that sad. Is inevitable.
2
@randomwatermelon1 Wars....or rather misuse of resources. Not just wars
2
How do you make these animations?
2
@geezerschrist3447 Any problems senpai
2
@gouravmitra3664 No use going to other words unless social changes happen for the better too. You'll mess up the whole galax for a trillion humans who will suffer in misery. Do you want star wars...or star trek. Because we will get star trek. Anyway humans are too uninspired to ever break FTL the way we are going. Enjoy your immortality dreams....atheists and religious people. I will join the happy dead.
2
@AverageAlien who wants to live in a space slum forever. Forever is a long time. Humans get bored and depressed with short lives as it is and waste them. Now you want the excesses of forever eh ...on asteroid slums. Go ahead.
2
@AverageAlien Depends. Way I see it, earth is full of greedy, stupid, argumentative, warlike, group-think, xenophobic, fools. Wouldn't want them around for any longer than necessary. Change that. Otherwise only the rich are going to have your long life tech. Society needs change.
2
@prod.by3zko At least he's trying. You want them to vote Trump? You need bandaids before you begin surgery friend.
2
@Akyure Fucking people, stop eating whales already. They're going extinct.
