  1. Why can't we lock 'em up? Simple, the prisons are so full that we're releasing people early (40% through sentence instead of 50%). Why are they so full? We've lowered the threshold for throwing people in, turning the whole system into a merry-go-round that achieves nothing more than Magic Roundabout did on TV back in the day. And yes, I know I said the same as you did - pinky promise I'd typed it out before I played that part of the video though. Just shows you we're both right. The way to fix the problem, is to modernise the prison system - not only upholding standards - uplifting them! Believe it or not, prisoner property cards (that list the property they own in prison) are still on paper, written by hand. Imagine how long an internal transfer takes, or release paperwork... if judges know someone will spend only 3 months work there, what's the point in all the Prison Officers having that paperwork in an ancient (and broken) system? Anything under 2 years is eligible for a suspended sentence for exactly this reason. Make prisons more efficient, and hell - build more of them - and we can START to bring back law & order. A rising tide (standards) lifts all boats equally.
