  1. first thing you learn in nursing school -- nurses would eat their young and do anything to keep their job once they get IN> there are few unions left and this story is VERY LATE to the game. Nurses have been quitting and leavig the profession for alost 10 years now. MANY states have responded TO this shortage by approving BS schools that shove students through and out and grant them licensure when they are getting LESS THAN HALF the medical education an RN NEEDS to practice on their first day. when you wonder why youre nearly dying if you are admitted to a hospital..its NOW because of the staff that is untrained and also responsible for everything so they will CHOOSE to do NOTHING rather than take action they will be litigated against...afterward. thats why the nurses NOW are not the RN you expected in the past. especially ICU and emergency nursing. I QUIT after 13 years in a different dept NOT nursing but radiology..same reasons. Ive watched higher up nearly cause death pulling out spinal caths and abusing patients, neglecting them and horrifically treating their fragile bodies while they are near death..its the stuff you cannot forget seeing and you CANNOT report anything you see, even if you TRY to report it. you will be punished

  3. worst thing to happen is the invention of "the hospitalist". ive also seen SO many doctors LEAVE practice to become a hospitalist to escape the personal connections and anxiety to now just be there to punish patients and staff with their job as finance director scanningthrough every expense and admission trying to SAVE MONEY for the corporation. thats NOT medicine.
