  1. It's not just Americans, also here in England though its claimed we have gone metric we haven't gone completely. We still drive at miles per hour, and travel distances in miles, and talk about how many MPG and MPH our cars do. We go to the pub and have a pint of beer and buy pictures and frames that are imperial sizes like 10 × 8 etc. We talk about being 6ft tall and 13 stone in weight that's all in imperial. I personally always use imperial as thats what I was taught at school and even my French wife who was taught metric also uses imperial since she moved here over 20years ago. In fact its claimed Britain is going metric inch by inch.
