I believe the French have tried hard to integrate immigrants into French society and it has worked for the first generation. However, their children the second generation seem to look back to their country of origin and become far more religious than their intergrated parents were. Thats where the problem lies, in the younger 2nd generations failure to intergrate.

@salahaldin447 Yes, I think it's because they have a romantic vision of their ancestry homeland which is not shared by their parents who experienced the reality.

@thestandupphilosophers It's only simple minded chavs whose only thoughts are consumerism, the vast majority of us have many strong unifying cultural beliefs and customs. The problem is, so do many immigrants and they are not compatible. Yet the Government allows them to illegally land here in ever increasing numbers daily. Also the Governments moto of 'Diversity is our Strength' is nonsense. Nothing divided is strong only by being United are we strong. Unless the government really means 'Our Diversity is Their Strength'. It's only by dividing us up that they can introduce draconian laws like banning travel through 15minute cities, private car ownership and removing our bank accounts if we criticise them and don't do as we are told. Therefore, our unity is just as important today as it was before, if we are to survive like we have for centuries past.
