  1. During the French revolutionary wars of 1796 Great Britain recruited 8 black regiments to fight in the British army against the French in the West Indies. The French of course are white, so yet another mistake from the black media 'historian'. My three times great grandfather recieved his first commission in the 8th West Indian Regiment in 1798. Of whom the British General Trigge commented that: 'The 8th West Indian regiment formed within the last three years and composed almost entirely of new negroes... engaged with a degree of gallantry, and behaved in a manner, that would do honour to any troops' So it doesnt seem like there was any racism towards these soldiers here in the harsh conditions of the 18th century British army either. In fact, they were fed, clothed and paid, exactly the same as white troops, and were proud to serve.
