  1. A few years ago I was delivering leaflets in south London. I noticed down the little access roads at the back of the houses and sometimes on the side they all had a garage. However, none had the usual garage door they had instead all been replaced by a smart door and an adjoining window. On these smart doors was a house number but they were obviously not houses, I remember thinking then that these were illegal housing, yet they were quite blatant, with no attempt to hide the fact.
