  1. In New Zealand the Maoris replaced the indigenous population around 800 years ago and now are regarded as indigenous and no one would dare question this. Yet the English have been here at least 1,500 years ago and probably far longer. The major part of an Englishmans DNA is also from the Celts so all the peoples of these islands are most definition indigenous.
