  1. The so called 'Anglosaxons' who actually called themselves Gewissas not Anglo Saxons. It is believed that the word Gewissas is Brythonic for hill fort and the people were Anglo- Brythonic rather than Anglo- Saxon. So the Arthurian legends actually do belong to them too.

Alfred the Great was descended from the founding king of Wessex who was Cerdric, which is a Brythonic name as was his son Cynric.
