In Rochester Kent a few years ago I saw a black lady Morris dancing, this was groundbreaking for two reasons. First women traditionally arent allowed to Morris dance, and secondly many of the Morris dancers had traditional blackened faces. Neither of which seem to bother this lady in the least, nor anyone else watching them.

Above this video was another showing Good Morning Britain where a girl whose father is English and mother black felt uncomfortable when watching Morris dancers performing with black faces. Why would she feel uncomfortable watching her own fathers, and therefore her own culture? She kept comparing it to American blacked up singing groups from the last century. Even though it has nothing to do with this and is far older and not in anyway derogatory. But why do so many people of colour confuse British culture with American, this is Britain, it's not America ! The comments for that have been turned off, but as this is the same subject I commented here instead. We must preserve our traditions because if we lose our history we lose our future.

@douglas_gemini Yes they are now, but traditionally they weren't, as Morris dancing, like many other activities was male only.
