Trial by Jury is a fundamental cornerstone of our Democracy, but not the already deluted system that we now have. The original system of Trial by Jury, not only judged the accused, but also the Law by which he was charged. In this way, a Jury could find a guilty man innocent if they believed he broke the law in a just or acceptable way. They would also judge the Law itself and if they believed the Law was unjust again they could find him innocent of any crime. Also there was no 'Judge' but them, what we call a judge was merely an administrator who could advise them on legal points. In this way, the people had true democratic control over THEIR country and not just by elections , which is all we have left. However, our democracy is constantly under attack and over the years the rights of the Demos (the people) and their (Kratos) the power to govern themselves has been watered down and removed. Its now time we re-exerted our democratic rights before they are lost forever.

@jharekcarnelian According to Parliaments own website, it says it does. There is an article there by Professor David Carpenter who says that Magna Carta is not an English document but a British one. This is because it was compiled by the authority of all the British Kings and Princes of England, Scotland and Wales. Chapter 56 dealt with Welsh grievances and Chapter 59 Scottish grievances. Magna Carta is the first document showing English, Welsh and Scots sharing the same political precedures and guarantees the Scottish King Alexander II to be treated equally with his English and Welsh peers.
