@alanmarr3323 The crusades were hundreds of years ago, this attack was yesterday !

@patrickkyle4601 Yes true, but even the bible contains passages instructing the believer to commit violent acts. However, we ignore them, while the followers of Islam obey them to the letter.

Religions rise from the cultures that create them, violent male dominated cultures create a religion that reflects that. Christianity was also created in a violent male dominated society. However, after it arrived in Britain we moulded it to our more gentle and forgiving culture.

@mecurian485 Most intelligent people accept the fact that Christianity evolved out of early religions and that's why it still contains elements of these early religions. If you want to ignore this, that's you prerogative, but the truth remains !

@leonardgibney2997 Yes Leonard, despite the Muslim population still being fairly small in the UK, around 5% they are growing rapidly. Yet, they already control many local councils and Muslim Mayors abound. Unfortunately, our voting system is open to manipulation by those with a cultural inclination to do so.

@alanmarr3323 I wouldn't call myself an expert, though I have educated myself in the Islamic faith as it becomes more and more entrenched in my culture. Though like all religions what is Islam ? It has many different branches that are not recognised or comparable with other branches. Sufism is a mystical element that originated in the Sunni Muslim branch. Other branches like Amadiyya are not accepted by the Sunnis or Shias or other branches. Very much like Christianity, where Catholic and Protestant were sworn enemies for 100s of years.

People whose actions are controlled by a voice they hear in the head, are mentally unstable. It has nothing to with any 'God' or we would all hear these voices, but neither the god, nor the voices really exist. All laws are written by man, whether they are religious laws or civil laws. Therefore, in all cases people are only following man made laws.

@merlin5476 Though British culture is more gentle and forgiving, it must still be strong and stand up to cultures that are not. Or else it will be destroyed.

@gavinjames1145 No, I'm sorry Gavin it's the other way around. Religions developed differently in the cultures that they exist, because they are created and moulded by that culture. And if the Muslim culture takes over here in Britain watch our cultural 'bedrock' change with it.
1
@gavinjames1145 Sorry Gavin but I disagree, our culture created our religion. That's why Christianity is different in different cultures and in different times, as is Islam. However, if a particular type of Islam is allowed to take over here in Britain, our culture will be replaced by theirs.
1
@gavinjames1145 If this was true, Religion and God would exist without mankind. However, despite the world existing for billions of years without mankind, there was no sign of God or culture untill man appeared and created them.
1
@gavinjames1145 Religion only came into being when mankind arrived and tried to understand the world, and his place within it. Also earlier religions were not monotheistic, they were polytheistic and contained many gods. Elements of these early religions remain in Christianity. Also If 'God' has always existed why was there no sign of him before mankind arrived and invented him as part of their culture? The world and many other creatures existed long before man arrived. So perhaps you should study more, go on, enlighten yourself !

@gavinjames1145 Oh dear Gavin, when I read your comment that stone axes and boats predates humanity......... really ?????? I'm sorry I had to stop there, I can't waste my time reading such drooling nonsense.

@ghost-user559 The old testament is just as much s part of Christianity as the new testament. In fact, it predicts the arrival of Christ the Messiah. However, these texts were actual compiled by the Roman's from ancient jewish text to create the Roman Catholic church to control peoples minds as well as bodies. This was to perpetuate the power of the Roman Empire, and it has worked wonderfully. Here we are 2,000 years later and it's still a powerful world dominating enterprise. Nevertheless, I think this topic has now been exhausted, time to move on.
1
@ghost-user559 Can you actually read ? I wrote that the Roman's took the JEWISH HOLY SCRIPTURES after they defeated the Jews, I never said they wrote them. They then put them together mixed up with their own pagan faith and historical facts to invent this particular Christian Messiah. Much like Hollywood does today, and after 2000 years the Roman Catholic church is still going strong long after their Empire failed. There are many books revealing this in detail, books like: 'Caesars Missiah' by Joseph Atwell. Unless you prefer not to contemplate the truth, in that case, just dwell in the darkness and continue as you are.

@ghost-user559 The biggest Historical Fiction is the bible itself, and at least the Da Vinci code was written as fiction and never claimed to be anything else. However, it's a perfect illustration how some people still believe it to be factual (like you) despite the authour admitting it's pure fiction. Imagine how easy it would be if Dan Brown the authour, was intentionally trying to deceive people ? Nevertheless, Joseph Atwell isn't trying to deceive anyone, he is an acedemic who studied Christianity for many years, as well as Greek and Latin which enabled him to spend over a decade studying the original documents. Historical documents like the Dead sea Scrolls, the 1st century works of Josephus 'War of the Jews ' as well as the Gospels. It was during these studies that he noticed a link between them and the military campaigns of Titus Flavius. What he eventually found out led him to write 'Caesars Messiah'. But it's not the only research that came to this same conclusion, are they all just liars, or are you just misguided and easily led ?
1
@ghost-user559 Oh dear ! So all you have to contradict is my misspelling of the authors name. I suppose that means you now accept his findings. Well done, at least that's progress !

@mecurian485 All religions are made up and include parts of other religions, including pagan religions.
1
@mecurian485 The Abrahamic religions are based on the ancient Persian monotheistic religions of Zaroastrian. And Islam is based on the Abrahamic religion of judaism. That's why Islam has all the same prophets, including Jesus. Christianity itself also includes many pagan festivals and gods like Christmas, which in reality is the ancient Pagan winter Solstice. Easter is also the Pagan festival of Eoetre, the pagan goddess of fertility, hence eggs and rabbits.
1
@mecurian485 I wasn't appealing to anyones intelligence ??? I was just stating a well known fact that's widely recognised by educated people. I'm sorry that you are reduced to attacking me, rather that any of these facts that I have put forward. Which just reveals you have no answer to them and know that you cannot realistic dispute what is indisputable.

@harrisr1018 I'm not a Christian, though I was brought up in the Christian faith, but I always suspected it was a lot of nonsense, and my own personal research confirmed my suspicions.
