British pilots in the Battle of Britain were mostly in their early 20s or even teenagers. They were trained in less than 200 hours flying time with only 15 in the plane they would serve in and many had never even fired the guns. 501 squadron was the only squadron to fight in the front line throughout the summer and of the original 18, 4 were killed and another 46 joined, with 15 of them killed one of these replacements was Arthur Price, the brother of actor Dennis Price.

In his book The Battle of Britain, ex RAF pilot Ron Powell confirms that of the 2,917 pilots that took part in the battle of Britain 80% were British and another 10% came from the British Commonwealth. Only the last 10% were foreign pilots including 139 Poles 84 Czechs one of whom Josef Frantisek was the highest scoring pilot. Plus 29 Belgians, 13 French, 10 Irish and 7 Americans. We may have bombed German cities in May 1940, but we had been at war since September 1939 and German plans had been bombing mainland Britain since then. That's not even considering the German bombing of British shipping and British Troops in Norway and during the battle of France where the RAF last many planes. Therefore, I dispute your claim that the Battle of Britain was a myth won by foreign pilots or that we started bombing first, both are demonstrably false.

@Steve Tonnensen Hitler had already 'invaded' Germany in the 1920s he was after all an Austrian, not German.

@dittmannrudolfrohr2149 The majority of Austrians would disagree with that statement Rudolf.

@dittmannrudolfrohr2149 Because Austrians say so, that's how.

@dittmannrudolfrohr2149 Or maybe you don't know any Austrians, only Germans ?
