  1. Originaly the 12 man Common Law trial by jury was supposed to judge both the accused and the law itself. If the law was unjust they could free the accused, even if they judged he had broken this law . In this way, the common man within the Jury system held the highest law council of the land. However, this has been replaced with modern jury trials where the adjudicator has beencome the judge and now the Jury with be removed completely.
