At 4am on the 1st May, I was at the pagan Green Man Festival in Hastings watching the dancing in the dawn together with Morris dancers and Maypoles. Later I watched the releasing of Jack in the Green in the old town and saw the colourful possesion through the town as Jack danced up the streets to the castle green. Later Jack was stripped of his greenery and it was thrown into the crowd for the young girls to catch as a spring fertility rite and summer was released into the new year. Therefore, our customs continue to grow and thrive, but not in Londonistan where you live Simon, but out in the countryside where the English still live.
