@cymro6537 They flew the Union flag in 1966 just as all other countries in the Union proudly rallied beneath it. It was only after the EU instigated regional Governments were introduced in the 1990s that divisions were exploited, all in an attempt to break up that Union, and it is obviously working.

@cymro6537 Personally I don't know any English people who confuse Britain with England. Though I have noticed SNP Scots doing it. However foreigners, particularly Americans, do it all the time.

Perhaps the Swiss lack of armed criminals is due to the fact that they have low levels of immigrants and those they do have are all Europeans.

@cymro6537 Many Americans confuse England and Britain and therefore use them interchangeably.

@djscoah8037 Yes, I've actually noticed this in my lifetime. When I was a boy, the police were firm and respected. Unfortunately, now many previous standards have been dropped resulting in what look like school boys and girls wearing an adults uniform with no gravitas or respect displayed at all. The police are now termed a Service not a Force, that about sums them up .
2
Blondie That's all down to the greatly degraded standards that they are now recruited by.

thomas robert Yes, well that's true !

@skipmole612 I wouldnt worry about being dragged from the car by the current croo of Police. No longer are they ex military now they are far shorter skinny effete Woke kneelers who have trouble dragging their boot clad feet along, let alone an average sized Brit.

@cymro6537 England is the largest country by far in Great Britain and when the Germans were planning to invade they planned to invade England first, not Wales or Scotland. There are more people living in London than in the whole of Scotland and Wales combined and that's just one city in England. Therefore of course they had England written on the map, that's where the Germans were invading. Also Vera Lynn was an English singer, singing about her own country. Just as Welsh singers sang about about Wales, and Scottish singers sang about Scotland. But there were also many British patriotic songs sang for us all combined. Of course a family talking about their currency called it English currency it says it's from the Bank of England on the notes. But again if they had been Welsh or Scots they would have called it after their own country where they use it. In fact Scottish money has it written on it too, just as it does on English money. Nevertheless, the term Sterling is also English and comes from the Old English word 'Stiere' which means, Strong, Firm, Immovable. Also the St George's flag was introduced by the Norman's it's hardly English. We don't even have Saints in the Anglican religion even when that religion was dominant. The original pre Norman English flag was more like the Welsh flag but consisted of a white dragon on a red background and was flown by King Harold when he defeated the Norse army at the battle of Stanford Bridge in 1066 before the battle of Hastings.

@cymro6537 Oh dear ! No wonder you are so misinformed, you get your history from a BBC quiz programme. 🤭
1
@cymro6537 Then far better to read their sources and see if they have repeated them accurately or not. However, even QI director admitted that they often got things wrong. One instance that might interest you is that Stephen Fry claimed on the Show that the Welsh language had no word for the colour Blue. This of course is not true, the Welsh word for blue is Glas.

@cymro6537 Well he is indeed the Prime or First minister of England as well as the UK. And that's because England of course, unlike Wales and Scotland, doesnt have it's own devolved Parliament. Also the Union flag has been our national British flag for so long and recognised throughout history and the world, that no one would like to see it go. So you won't be seeing me wave any white flag, it's not a very British custom.

@djscoah8037 Yes agreed ! And who is the Met Commissioner of police ? Why none other than that serial con man Sadiq Khan. The same clown who is extending his ULEZ to greater London and breaking his own word and against his own report. It's nothing to do with Woke green polution, it's all about money making to replenish the funds he wasted on his disastrous stewardship of TFL and Cross rail. Khan isnt fit to manage a school crossing, let alone Londons police force !
1
@djscoah8037 Yes, I checked and you are right, though Khan is also listed confusingly as the Police and crime Commissioner as well ?

@BillSikes. Scotland is actually only just over half the land mass of England, but only has a population on some 5.4million compared to Englands 66million. Though this is rapidly rising due to mass uncontrolled immigration into England, over half a million in the last year alone. I wouldn't worry about a drunk Scot being racist. I experienced the same in Australia when I was told to: "Go back to your own overcrowded island you pommie bastard". But I don't hold Aussie responsible for the rantings of a drunk who would probably appologise when sober.
1
@BillSikes. Well I'm only quoting the official figures. Scotland is only around 30,000 square miles and England is over 50,000.
