@kholi9441 Steinways are actually an American company founded in Manhatan USA in 1853 they later opened a factory in New York and in 1901 in Hamburg Germany. So they expanded to Germany, not the other way around. Though Heinrich Steinweg originally came from Germany he left due to the conflicts of 1848 and emigrated to the USA.

The piano may degenerate over time, what doesn't. However, it's a very long process and I regularly tune pianos that are over 100 years old and they still sound a play very well. The pianos longevity is far more of a problem for manufacturers than its decline. Why pay thousands for a new one, when you can buy a perfectly good old one for a comparatively small amount ?

@peteacher52 No, Broodwood has never made any 'digital pianos' which in effect are not really pianos at all. Broadwood only manufacture real pianos and are in fact the oldest piano manufacturers in the world.

@roryboyes2307 Broadwoods were owned by the Broadwood family for centuries but after almost becoming bankrupt they were rescued by English businessman Simon Geoffreys in the 1980s. Under Geoffreys stewardship Broadwood soon blossomed and manufactured innovative designs once again. When Geffreys died in 2006 the company was taken over by Dr Alistair Lawrence a former Broadwood employee with a long family history of working for Broadwoods stretching back for centuries. Dr Lawrence is now the CEO of the company but there are Broadwood family members still amongst the board of directors.
