Slavery is an ancient world wide practise, though many like to pretend that the Atlantic African slave trade was the only one.

@afrinaut3094 All slavery was tragic for those unlucky enough to be suffering it, and their skin colour or ethnicity didn't alleviate this at all. However, when certain people like you talk of Slavery you only want to talk about the trans Atlantic slave trade as though slavery began and ended there, but it didnt. Even the word Slave comes from the Slavic peoples of eastern Europe who were regularly sold into slavery from ancient time right up to the present day. In WW2 the Nazis considered Slavs 'Utermensch' (subhuman) and devised plans to murder 30million of them. Even today young Slav girls are offered high paid jobs in rich western countries. But when they arrive they are forced into prostitution instead. Men too are offered the same, but when they arrive they are forced to live in crowded unsanitary conditions and forced to work long hours with little or no pay. If they try to escape they are beaten and returned to their 'employer'. Skin colour has no bearing on certain people believing that they are superior and others are subhuman.

@afrinaut3094 I suppose because you are a black American you only think in terms of black slavery, but all peoples have suffered slavery throughout history, not just black Africans Though the Greeks, Roman's and Egyptions also had black slaves, they like all slave owners, didnt give a hoot what colour they were, as long as they worked hard. Also all slave owners looked down on their slaves what ever their colour, they werent particularly 'anti black'. You could hardly have a slave who you considered to be your equal, even if they were. You would soon find a way to feel superior, just to justify enslaving them. Slavery itself was banned in England in the 12th century. This is the reason that during the American Revolutionary war, black Americans fought on the British side. After the war was lost, these former slaves were taken to Sierra Leon and freed, in what is now the capital city, still called Freetown. Lieutenant Clarkson of the Royal Navy who was instrumental in this, is still today honoured as their Moses, who led them to freedom in the promised land. In 1807 Britain banned the slave trade throughout their Empire. They even had the Royal Navy patrolling the Atlantic to free any slaves found onboard ships crossing from Africa. In the US you had to wait another 60 years, for abolition, though descrimination was still rife in the 1960s. Perhaps this is the reason that you consider slavery to begin and end primarily with black skinned people. Though the white skinned Slavic people might think differently.

@MrFlatage What are you talking about ? All I've said is slavery was not just experienced by black people, but all people of all colours and races. Did you actually read any of my comments ?

@MrFlatage Your replies bear no resemblance to any of my comments which are all the complete opposite of being racist. And by the way my father fought the Nazis and the Fascists from Dunkirk, North Africa, Sicily and Italian right back to where it all started in Austria, Hitlers birth place. However, you and the the other halfwit, seem to be here to insult people and have an argument, so I will leave it here.
