  2. I had a new 1989 Buick. I used the AC just to avoid using the power window switch. Five years later, the switch went out. I sanded the contacts and it lasted about another week. Now when I use a PW switch on a car, I don’t worry about wearing it out. It’s going to wear out regardless if you use it or not.
